Question 1: What do you enjoy most about your current role & career overall?
I get to help people navigate the challenging (and rewarding) workaround finding the right role and career. Coaching and guiding is a big part of what I do every day in order to inspire people to solve career-related problems. Sharing insights, general wisdom and advice has led to some great aha moments and overall career success.
Question 2: How should students best maximize their internships?
Pay attention to everything. Ask questions. Be curious. Become a student of whatever industry you’re in. Get out of your comfort zone and meet new people. Look for mentors within the organization. Take lots of notes. Network. Look for problems to solve.
Question 3: What skills and personal characteristics do you feel contribute most to success in your industry?
Being a good listener. Being empathetic. Being compassionate. Curiosity goes a very long way – I try to feed myself with new info daily. I often remind myself to be brave, courageous and authentic.
Question 4: What are the biggest early-career mistakes to avoid?
Pretending to have all the answers. Humility goes a long way.
